The Graduate Admissions Office of the School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School adheres to the fundamental principles of "Openness, Fairness, and Impartiality." Enrollment is conducted according to institutional needs, with a comprehensive evaluation of applicants' moral, intellectual, and physical qualifications, ensuring selective admission of the best candidates while upholding the principle of "quality over quantity." The following outlines the relevant arrangements for further assessment of the 2026 recommendation-based exemption. Applicants are advised to prepare in advance accordingly:

Further assessment Process

1.Our School will publish the further assessment guidelines and the list of shortlisted candidates. Applicants should check the official website for details and attend the on-site assessment as required.

2.Candidates are required to report for registration prior to the assessment. Our staff will then verify their eligibility and review all application documents.

3.Candidates must attend the on-site further assessment organized by our School at the scheduled time. Failure to participate as stipulated will be considered a voluntary forfeiture of further assessment eligibility.


Qualification Review and Document Verification

1.Required Materials for On-site Verification:

o Original ID Card/Passport

o Original Student ID Card

o Original Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate(s)

o A printed copy of the "Integrity Commitment Statement for Examinations," which must be signed and submitted during the registration process.

2.All original documents must be presented for verification at the registration site. Candidates failing to present the required originals or meet any stipulated requirement will be ineligible to proceed with the assessment.

3.Applicants must provide all required proof materials within the designated timeframe. Incomplete submission or provision of falsified documents will result in disqualification from the review process and revocation of further assessment eligibility.

The School will verify the eligibility of each candidate for the further assessment as part of the registration process, during which all required materials must be submitted.

2.Formal Assessment Arrangements

Time:9:00 - 18:00, Friday, September 19, 2025

Location:Meeting Room FD-101 & Meeting Room FD-211, School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology, Peking University

Note:Candidates are required to report in person at the designated registration time.Those who fail to report within the specified time frame will be considered to have voluntarily forfeited their assessment eligibility, and shall bear any resulting consequences.

Detailed Further AssessmentRules and Regulations

1.Assessment Format: The assessment will be conducted in the form of a comprehensive interview, with each session lastinga minimum of 30 minutes. The entire process will be audio and video recorded.

2.Candidates are required to prepare a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation covering the following:personal introduction, scientific research experience, and research proposal.At least 10 minutes of the presentation must be dedicated to the candidate's research experience (or experimental skills) and research proposal. The presentation may be delivered in either Chinese or English.

3.Q&ASections:

(1)Overall Candidate Profile: Evaluation of the candidate's academic capability, ideological and political awareness, and ethical conduct.

(2)English Proficiency: Assessment of the candidate's comprehensive Englishlanguage competency in contexts relevant to the discipline. The results will be incorporated into the overall further assessment score.

(3)Professional Knowledge and Research Foundation:Evaluation of the candidate's fundamental knowledge(undergraduate related major), analytical thinking, and clarity of logical reasoning. It further assesses their hands-on research experience, focusing on the significance and independent nature of their completed research projects, depth of understanding in their academic field and specific research activities, as well as their demonstrated capacity for independent work.

(4)Academic Background and Research Potential: Assessment of professional knowledge and research foundation, this section evaluates the candidate's future development plans and academic considerations. Key focuses include: the relevance of their academic background to the intended program; their understanding of the research directions in the chosen field; their awareness of graduate-level study and research; and their potential for development in related research areas.

Further Assessment Scoring and Grouping

1.Score Calculation:The further assessment results will be recorded on a percentage-based scoring system, with a minimum passing score of 60. Candidates who fail to achieve a passing score will not be considered for admission. For those meeting the passing requirement, selection will be based on ranking by assessment scores, adhering to the enrollment quotas.

2.Candidates will be randomly assigned to assessment groups and allocated a specific interview order.
