On April 6, 2016, with Fuzhuo Li’s invitation, Prof. Jieping Zhu from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, Switzerland visited our school and brought us an excellent report which titled “Metamorphosis of Cycloalkenes to Polycyclic Indole Alkaloids” in room E-104.  He mainly introduced his recent work in the total synthesis of complex indole alkaloids using “iORC sequence” (integrated oxidation/reduction/cyclization) as the key strategy. Started from the common intermediate, he completed the synthesis of many indole alkaloids with different skeletons. All of our teachers and students benefited a lot from his report.
