Prof. John. F. Hartwig, from UC，Berkeley, visited our school on May. 21, 2014. Prof. Hartwig’s research interests include selective catalytic functionalization of alkanes and arenes, cross-couplings to form arylamines and aryl ethers from aryl halides or sulfonates, and have made excellent work.
Today, he gave us a lecture named as “Selective Functionalization of Aryl and Alkyl C-H Bonds” and shared his work in this field with us. Besides, Prof. Hartwig talked with our students, and shared his experience in scientific research, which made us benefit a lot.
